Journalist
Jireh Deng is a writer and filmmaker from the San Gabriel Valley. Their storytelling is focused on documenting the experiences of diaspora and queer communities in Los Angeles County. They co-founded the LGBTQIA+ affinity group at the Asian American Journalists Association and are a member of the Trans Journalist Association. Previously, they were a breaking news and video fellow at the Los Angeles Times.
Their work has been published in NPR, The Washington Post, The Guardian, the Asian American Writers Workshop, Haymarket Books, The Rumpus, Literary Hub, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Human Rights Campaign and more.
