Aggeliki Politis is a 25-year-old Mexican and Greek artist based in Miami, Florida. Born and raised in Hollywood/North Miami, her work is deeply rooted in the rich cultural tapestry of her heritage, drawing inspiration from both Mexican and Greek traditions, as well as her South Florida roots. Raised in coastal towns by families with strong ties to the sea, Aggeliki’s art embodies the timeless connection between land and water, while seaming it together with her spiritual practices.
Through the use of clay, Aggeliki creates evocative pieces that document a personal journey of rediscovery to both her indigenous Mexican culture and ancestral rituals. These works also celebrate the beauty of indigenous and ethnic features as a whole, for the purpose of showing the world to embrace the beauty that has been passed down to them through their ancestors. She is also heavily inspired by the classical elegance of Greek vessels and carvings, intertwining both of her cultures seamlessly.
Her art speaks to the universal experience of culture, community, and the power of tradition. She is creating a dialogue between the past and present, seeing the presence of spirit and the sacred in everyday life.
