Visual Artist, Sculptor
Lia Ottinot is an interdisciplinary artist currently working towards her BFA at Jacksonville University, majoring in object design/sculpture. The experimental process of brainstorming, conceptualizing, and creating the final piece is a meditative and beautiful journey, which is why Ottinot makes art. The realization of these art pieces often accompanies a thought, event, or feeling she aims to share with her audience, ranging from social issues to personal hardships. As a multimedia artist focused on sculptural works, she uses mediums such as ceramics, found objects, oil painting, and printmaking. Ottinot describes her goal as an artist as creating art that raises awareness among viewers, hoping to inspire change through increased understanding.
