Accomplished violinist, Amber Daughtry, discovered her love for music at the early age of four. She was inspired by her older sister who created the musical environment for Amber to cultivate her interest in studying the violin. In the course of her artistic development, she made a solo debut at 14 years old; performing, “Meditation” from Thais with the professional majority black, Southeast Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Daughtry attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts where she received daily extensive artistic training in ensemble, chamber music, and music theory. After graduating, she studied at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) under esteemed concert violinist, Yuval Yaron for two years until he retired; In that time, she obtained awards for musical merit at UCSB and was a member of the UCSB Honors String Quartet. To continue her studies she moved to Chicago to study and graduate from DePaul University under local distinguished instructors as well as those from the Juilliard Pre-College Division with a B.M. in Violin Performance. Amber currently serves as mentor with the Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles and performs annually at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for their season ending concerts. With the orchestra, she has also performed at the Hollywood Bowl with Nigerian singer/songwriter Burna Boy, the League of American Orchestras Convention, American rock band Imagine Dragons and recorded as concertmaster and soloist on the Oscar award-winning film, “If Anything Happens I Love You”. As an educator, Amber aspires to nurture students in the community of Los Angeles with the gift of music education.
