Christine first expressed her desire to play the cello when she was 3 years old. After a brief period of playing violin and piano, Christine decided to fulfill her dream of playing cello at age 8 after joining the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. Christine began taking private cello lessons with Ameena Khawaja and then with Dr. David Garrett for 2 years and she currently studies under Gloria Lum. She’s played in masterclasses with cellists such as Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Sterling Elliott, and Brent Samuels.
In the fall of 2019, Christine traveled on tour with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to Mexico City, and toured with the LA Philharmonic again this past Spring in Barcelona, Spain. In 2021, she performed the Prélude of the Bach Cello Suite No. 2, as a soloist, at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Homecoming Gala. In June of 2023, Christine performed with Janet Jackson during her Together Again tour, at the Hollywood Bowl. Christine has been a member of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles since 2017. With ICYOLA, she’s had many once in a lifetime opportunities which include performing at the NFL Honors Awards Show at SoFi Stadium, playing in the Braindead-Converse Collaboration commercial, and performing at Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s house, in tandem with John Legend, for a celebration honoring Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Christine will be attending Yale University this fall to study Humanities.
