At The Peace Studio, we define peace by its opposite. Peace is that which is constructive rather than destructive. An artist chooses to bare their soul to an audience member who may be moved to think or act differently because of it. A journalist takes the time to write a story that goes beyond data facts and leans into the humanity of a situation.

To be a creative peacebuilder means you are an artist or journalist who subscribes to the notion that when our world is so fragile, you want to create work that is constructive rather than destructive. Most importantly, you see the opportunity you have every day to build empathy, inspire dialogue, and foster social justice and peace.

If that sounds like something you are or would be passionate about, then you’ve come to the right place. Our annual Creative Peacebuilders program engages artists and journalist leaders, ages 18-30, from all across the globe. Over the course of a year, you’ll connect with a community of like-minded peers, receive grant opportunities to support your work, and engage with guest mentors and teachers who will inspire you to consider new ideas for how you navigate life as a storyteller and creator.
