For the last few years, I have been working on a series of drawings from photos and archival material from the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Sunflowers have been a recurring theme in this work, as a symbol of peace, but also they are particularly important at our current moment, when so many of us have been stuck indoors and deprived of nature. They represent a source of continuous and renewed wellness, a reminder that nature still thrives even when human societies and economies are in chaos. My offering, a stop-motion animation of these drawings, hopes to capture that serenity.

DAILY PEACE ACTION
COVID Bail Out NYC is an all volunteer, emergency grassroots initiative to get people safe and free. The COVID-19 virus is spreading faster in NYC jails than anywhere in the world. Thousands of people are being held pretrial at Rikers simply because they can’t afford to pay bail.
