Day 42: Gillian Abbott

Calgary, AB, Canada

My inspiration for this piece is Maya Angelou’s quote, “I do not trust people who don’t love themselves and yet tell me, ‘I love you.'” I believe compassion is something we must cultivate first within ourselves and then towards others. Lovingkindness meditation offers us one path towards this desired fruition. I hope that the movement enables the viewer to embody the practice.
