Day 58: Lyn Patterson

Oakland, CA, United States

Much of my poetry starts as affirmations and meditations, for my inner self who seeks balance and stillness in the world. Through meditation, I can embrace stillness. We live in a world where the norm is a constant tension between urgency and efficiency. Peace can feel like a grandeur concept, but I have found that the sweetest peace comes from learning to do nothing and embracing the present. For my offering, I invite you first to be still as you listen to my poem and then connect with yourself more deeply by reflecting on its meaning.
