Alberta Khoury

Day 66: Alberta Khoury

I was inspired by the influential people in Ger’s life and his journey. I was captivated by his vivid descriptions of the different personalities and values of his family, friends and loved ones. I wanted to explore the idea of human connection, where we can treasure and develop our relationships with each other in different stages of life.

Alberta Khoury from Sydney, Australia, began studying classical guitar at the age of 4. She is studying with Sharon Isbin at the Juilliard School, the first guitarist to be accepted into the Doctor of Musical Arts program. Known for vivid collaborations with musicians, actors and dancers, Khoury is a Juilliard Student Ambassador, deeply committed to bringing music to the community wherever she is. She has been heard at the Met Cloisters, WQXR Greene Space, Vail Dance Festival, the Kennedy Center and at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute graced by the guitar-loving Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain. Khoury is a C.V. Starr Fellow.

I hope the work inspires listeners to cherish their families, loved ones and friends. Reflecting on memories and people in our lives would be a stance I hope viewers would like to take after seeing the video.
