Jennifer Ima is a first generation Cuban-American dance maker currently residing in Miami, FL. She is a recent graduate from New World School of the Arts/UF where she received her BFA in Dance. She created 3 dance films and 3 live performance works during her time in college when COVID-19 gave us a friendly visit. Some of her own dance films include La Balsa (which was inspired by stories within her cuban household) and You Can’t Force the Art out of an Artist in collaboration with Ariel Silva. She is currently a choreographer in the Miami Dance Makers 2022 cohort, a program hosted by Adele Myers supporting freshly graduated female choreographers in the early stages of their career.
