Theater Artist
Joel Castillo is a theater artist from Hialeah, Florida. His passions include directing, designing, playwriting, and teaching. He currently serves as one of the Co-Drama Teachers at Coral Reef Senior High. Some of his favorite projects include, playwright for Summer Shorts 2023 with City Theatre at the Arsht Center, Director and Scenographer for Mamma Mia! with the Seminole Theatre Players, and Scenographer for Euridyce at New York Film Academy. He seeks to use any experience he gains in the real world and transmit it to his students as best as he can. He wants his art to mean something and wants to highlight and tell the stories of the culturally rich people of Miami. All of his work wouldn’t be possible without the help of his wife and all of his educators past and present who continue to push him forward.
