Poet, Story Teller
Julie Celest(they/them) is an educator, land steward, and poet from what is now known as North East Los Angeles. Their culture, community and the land heavily informs the poetry that they write. Their poetry currently explores the crossroads of culture, land stewardship, and community building as tools for reflection and the creation of healthier worlds. As a Zapotec- Guatemalan-Queer-Poet and student of words, Julie writes to honor the past and future. Their name may be attached to the poems, but behind each poem is a whole ecosystem.
