Journalist
Marie Cusick serves as editorial director for the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs (SRL)– a hands-on student journalism training program that connects young people to real-world experiences and educators to resources and community. She is passionate about elevating the voices of young people. Marie joined SRL after eight years as a multimedia reporter at public media stations in New York and Pennsylvania where she covered politics, science, technology, energy and the environment on television, radio, and digital platforms. Her work has been recognized with a Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, an Emmy nomination from the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and a national Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
