Producer, Writer
Robert Reid is an award-winning producer/writer from Oklahoma City. He’s currently producer/host for Gallery America, a monthly arts/culture show for PBS’ largest member station OETA (Oklahoma Educational Television Authority). He always looks to tell stories less commonly told in mainstream media. Last year, he produced “Slow Ride” on Mexican-American lowrider culture in Oklahoma City, which became the most-watched local program on PBS nationwide. He’s also covered Native American artists, Native American museums, Pakistan-American installation artists, along with several Tulsa artists/poets for OETA’s Heartland Emmy-award winning centennial commemoration of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Previously he was a travel writer/videographer for outlets including Lonely Planet, National Geographic, BBC and New York Times.
