Seeret (Pronounced see-ruh-th) Singh

Film/Theater Writer & Director

Seeret Singh is an award-winning film & theatre maker whose work blends cultural truths, social commentary, and good old-fashioned fun. Drawing on her lived experience in New York, Los Angeles, and the global colonial diaspora, her practice begins in the kaleidoscope of the marginalized experience, highlighting the beauty, complexity, humanity, and humor in often-overlooked perspectives. Her storytelling is grounded in ethnographic inquiry, using film and performance to explore contradicting identities, challenge conventional narratives, and imagine better worlds. Her projects have been championed by institutions like CAPE, Janet Yang Productions, Rickshaw Film Foundation, UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance, USC’s Pacific Asia Museum, and DominAsian Magazine. She holds a dual degree in Theatre and Race, Ethnicity, and Politics from the University of Southern California.
