On Monday, June 14, 2021 The Peace Studio brought together four renowned musicians, Grammy-Award Winning Opera Singer Joyce DiDonato; Grammy and MacArthur-Winning musician Rhiannon Giddens; visionary Violinist, Activist, and Educator Midori; and acclaimed Musician, Composer, Bandleader, and Educator Wynton Marsalis to reflect on the potential that music has to break down barriers and help people find common causes. All of these musicians believe that music has the power to enable people to discover their shared humanity. Together, these four extraordinary artist humanitarians spoke to the ways they have seen music bring attention to painful conflicts, encourage self-reflection, and remind people everywhere of the power that each of us has to foster a culture that values love, justice, and peace.
