Artist, Writer, and Community Educator

Melody Joy Overstreet is a Jewish, Iranian-American artist, writer, printer, weaver, and community educator. She is a devoted land steward, Life Lab Garden teacher, and seed keeper. Her work has been exhibited locally as well as internationally, and is featured in numerous publications inclusive of Loam Magazine, Seed Broadcast, Kitchen Table Quarterly, and the New Farmer’s Almanac. Melody was a recent Artist in Residence with the On Being Project, and created a book of place-based poems and illustrations titled, Reverberations, speaking to themes of origins, memory, belonging, and interconnectivity. She is a co-founder of Reciprocal Field, a seasonal project that shares art, publications, apothecary offerings, learning opportunities, community-centered gatherings, events, and installations.
