Shannon Mateskyis an Actress, Writer, Producer, and Director. As a poet, Shannon was featured on the final season of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam and has performed in venues and colleges across the country including the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and The Kennedy Center. Shannon is a core writer for Chicago’s hit, The Fly Honey Show and is the author of five solo performances, She Think She Grown, We Gotta Eat, The Saga of the Return, Heartbreak Hotel: Whitney, and What You Mixed Wit? Shannon recently made her Broadway Debut in 6 time Tony Nominated, Ain’t No Mo’ by Jordan E. Cooper. Shannon has also been seen at Steppenwolf Theater, La Jolla Theater, BARS at The Public Theater, and was a member of the 2018 Directors Lab at Lincoln Center. Shannon has produced live events and festivals such as Urban Word NYC’s Grand Slam Finals at the Apollo Theater (NYC), Brave New Voices International Teen Poetry Festival (Multiple Cities), and the Life is Living Community Festival. Shannon also successfully accomplished a three year run of Queer Abstract, a monthly QTPOC variety show in Brooklyn, NY which featured over 300 performers that she created and hosted.
