Artist
Tori Scott is a visual artist based in Miami, Florida. She received her BFA from Florida International University with a focus in Studio art and a Minor in Art History in 2020. In 2021, Scott participated in an Art education and social Impact residency with Project Art-Miami, where she instructed classes on art history and mixed media art. As of 2023, Scott has presented work group exhibitions including, “an Elegy to Rosewood,” commemorating the 100th year since the tragic massacre at the Frost Art Museum, and the G-Ma, Mama, and Nana exhibition in honor of Women’s History Month at the FIU MBUS gallery. Scott’s work takes on the form of storytelling and highlights the Black experience and existence. These pieces represent communal expression while also preserving memories. Much of her work starts with a photographic process and through these archives, she explores mediums such as painting, digital photography, and installations.
